Wahaca's new breakfast menu won't just wake you up - it'll add a whole lotta of lip-smacking spice to your day.
Winter has officially arrived in London; coats are coming out of storage, the heating is getting cranked up, and faces on the tube are beginning to look vaguely grey. Fortunately for us, the new Great Portland Street outpost of Mexican Street Food chain Wahaca will let you cling onto summer with a fresh, zesty breakfast.
Spicy salsa and eggs dominate the menu, which features three different varieties of Mexican Baked Eggs (with either chipotle, tomatillo creme fraiche or chorizo), the classic fried-egg-blue-corn-tortilla Huevos Ranchos Divorciados, breakfast baps filled with salmon, bacon and avocado, and a colossal Breakfast Burrito to really set you up for the day.
Sourdough toast, granola and porridge with fresh blueberries are also available for those with a more delicate palate, along with hot drinks, juices and signature Wahaca smoothies.
Prices are very reasonable (£6 for most dishes), portions are generous, and the menu is available from 7.30am weekdays, 9am weekends at both Wahaca Great Portland Street and Wahaca Charlotte Street.
As they say in Mexico: never do business without food.
