Absurd Bird, Shoreditch
Pritesh Mody |
What…/
London's obsession with creating the perfect fried chicken continues apace with the launch of Absurd Bird.
Who…/
A mysterious international company with plans for fried chicken domination!
On the menu…/
The free-range chicken comes from Fosse Meadows Farm, which is a great start and guaranteed to ensure the meat itself is delicious. You can have the bird pretty much any way you want it: whole spatch-cocked chicken that's hot smoked in house; crispy, fried chicken on a waffle; gigantic wings slathered in everything from classic Buffalo to Smoked Garlic Parmesan & Lemon; or for the health conscious, a simple yet delicious grilled chicken available with a variety of sauces.
And it's not just chicken. Sides include ridiculously moreish Jalepeno cheese biscuits and sweet, stodgy Corn bread pudding. Desserts aren't exactly understated either with Crack Pie and a boozy Dipsy Cake taking centre stage.
