The Palomar is an interesting new restaurant in Soho serving the food of modern day Jerusalem.
The Palomar menu is divided simply into dishes from the Raw Bar and dishes from the Stove, Plancha and Josper. The food itself is largely influenced by the rich cultures of Southern Spain and Italy, North Africa and the Levant, with dishes including Landing Catch raw fish ‘Uri-style', with cured onion and ginger vinaigrette; Kubenia, hand chopped beef fillet with bulgur, tahini and herbs; and Pork belly Tajine with ras el hanout, dried apricots and Israeli couscous. Desserts are equally curious, including Tahini ice cream with date syrup, whipped cream, fresh figs and filo pastry.
