Former Polpo Chef Tom Oldroyd goes solo with the opening of OLDROYD in Islington!

What.../ OLDROYD is a relaxed 40-cover neighbourhood restaurant with a café-style vibe downstairs and a bistro-style first floor dining room where bookings will be taken. If you're lucky enough to see some sunshine, there is also a small al fresco seating area. Who.../

Before OLDROYD, Tom was Chef Director at the Polpo restaurant group, where he worked for five years with Russell Norman, creating the menu for the original Polpo in Soho as well as opening a further seven successful restaurants with the group.  #Impressed!

Menu.../ Tom's menu offers sharing plates including ‘Summer radishes, smoked cod's roe & celery salt' and ‘Smoked pork belly & pea croquettas with truffle mayonnaise' . A seasonal summer salad of ‘Peach & cow curd panzanella, broad beans & mint' sits alongside larger plates including ‘Crab Tagliarini Provençal, with brown crab rouille' and ‘Cured Welsh veal tonnato, & smoked anchovies'. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert list features ‘Chocolate mousse, salted pistachio praline & raspberries'. A weekend brunch menu will also be served from 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
