Snowflake Luxury Gelato launch a Pop-Up in Harvey Nichols
The weather gods are shining upon us, as it would seem that summer has (briefly) returned. Make the most of this by trying a scoop or seven of Snowflake's Luxury Gelato at Harvey Nichols.
Following on from the success of their two boutiques (in Soho and Bayswater), Snowflake have installed themselves and a retro ice-cream cart on the Fifth Floor of Harvey Nichols. The top ten flavours are on offer, including classics like dark chocolate, strawberry and raspberry sorbet, along with the more unusual fig & caramel, pistachio and hazelnut flavours.
The gelato itself is handmade daily in the boutiques, using only the best organic milk from fat, happy Jersey cows, organic milk, and sugar. For label-lovers, there are fat-free, gluten-free, dairy-free and low-sugar sorbettos on offer, which still manage to taste like they include all the deadliest ingredients.
They've recently won 10 gold stars at the Great Taste Awards 2014, and no wonder – this is creamy, luxurious gelato at it's finest. After trying every flavour in the name of research, I went for a tub of pistachio and hazelnut, which I ate so quickly I practically vaccumed it.
There are a few tables next to the cart if you want to sit in and enjoy a waffle or sundae with your gelato, and large take-away cartons are also available. The Guild of Fine Food recently dubbed Snowflake Sorbetto the ‘Agent Provocateur of the tongue' in a rather saucy statement, and we couldn't agree more.
