Turntables Pop-Up, Hackney Wick - New Opening
Cat Byers |
Turntables is the new boutique pop-up in town, and they're providing Londoners with the perfect mix of great music, big tunes and good-times!
Sick of mulled wine and fake snow already? You're in luck, as the team behind Turntables are bringing their own unique style of food, music and feel-good vibes to East London this winter. The brainchild of six music-loving food traders, it's running for six weeks at a cool canal side venue in Hackney Wick. The former industrial space has been transformed with covered seating areas, fire pits, huge tents and a decked dance floor to make it ready for any weather (or potential Arctic temperatures), and they've roped in a group of London artists and creatives to help jazz it up too. Street Food stars Bill or Beak, The Cheese Truck, Popdog's, White Men Can't Jerk, Mother Flipper and Original Fry Up Material will be providing the gastronomic delights, while bars serving hot toddies, spiced rum punch and hot aperol cocktails will help keep you warm. A soundtrack of disco, house and vintage vinyl will be provided while you munch and booze by live broadcasts, fresh DJ's and live sets from up-and-coming music stars and some of Turntable's own multitalented chefs, along with some secret special guests yet to be revealed. Turntables launches on Thursday 13th November, and runs Thursday - Sunday every week until December 20th. FREE ENTRY Turntables, 119 Wallis Rd, London, E9 5LN
