Is your knowledge of the Deep South limited to the deep fried and the barbecued? Delve into Southern cuisine with TOAST x The Lockhart Dinner to discover that there's more to it than finger lickin' chicken.
Sip on bourbon cocktails while listening to Mississippi-born chef Brad McDonald and food writer Tim Hayward shoot the breeze, meandering through their memories of the South, discussing the history of its cuisine and the stories that make it what it is today. A family-style meal will follow – pass around Southern favourites like cornbread, gumbo, smoked shortrib, shrimp and grits, deviled crab and (we couldn't resist) fried chicken, as well as special dishes created for this one-off event.
Plus discover wines from American growers, finish the meal with some pie, and take home @1235donuts for late-night snacking.
